October MALSP Meeting - An (Easy) Introduction to Advanced Analytics in eDiscovery

SYNOPSIS: 

Join our panel discussion and see how predictive coding – along with other advanced technologies – saves time and effort in eDiscovery projects big and small. Experts in EDiscovery will discuss best practices, case studies, and real world examples to demonstrate how easy it is to implement these proven tools on every project, every time.

Brandon Rimnac, Director of Consulting Services, Transperfect Legal Solutions

Brandon Rimnac is a Director of Consulting Services for Transperfect Legal Solutions. Mr. Rimnac is a subject matter expert for all stages of EDiscovery, from processing to production, and has consulted with government agencies on extraordinarily complex cases, including several dozen mergers and acquisitions. He has used his experience to assist over one hundred colleagues gain industry certifications through internal training programs, and has traveled the United States and internationally to speak at law firms and trade shows about predictive coding and other advanced analytics used in EDiscovery.

Jim Sullivan, Attorney, Sullivan & Tarnowski

Jim Sullivan is an attorney for Sullivan & Tarnowski PLLP and technologist for Oxsome Web Services. Mr. Sullivan has successfully implemented predictive coding on hundreds of legal matters over the past decade. He has consulted on matters in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Mr. Sullivan has written and spoken widely on the use of predictive coding in electronic discovery both in the United States and abroad. Mr. Sullivan received his Bachelor of Science degree from Minnesota State University with a major in computer science and mathematics in 2004. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Hamline University in 2007.


Dayna Munsch, Director of eDiscovery, DaVita Kidney Care

Dayna Munsch is an Enterprise Subject Matter expert on all stages of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM), providing strategic advice and counsel to business line(s), in-house litigation and government investigation attorneys and outside counsel on discovery issues related to the most significant and complex litigation matters, government and regulatory requests and investigations. She oversees eDiscovery vendors regarding processing, searching, and reviewing ESI. Mrs. Munsch provides case teams with strategy on the use of analytics for document review, and reviews and approves ESI protocols and Review protocols.


Andrew Simpson, Senior Project Manager, Transperfect Legal Solutions

Andrew Simpson is a senior project manager of eDiscovery for Transperfect Legal Solutions. A former practicing attorney, he utilizes his technical and legal backgrounds to consult and manage eDiscovery matters of all sizes. Mr. Simpson specializes in managing and creating workflows for complex cases involving structured data. He has utilized both traditional and predictive analytics on many cases from large class actions to small insurance litigation cases. Mr. Simpson received a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science in 2006, and received his Juris Doctor degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2009.
